Chef Vini of Café India SLC!

Chef Vini is excited to offer home-styled authentic gourmet Indian cuisine.

Chef Vini was raised in a traditional Indian family where girls were expected to learn to cook from a very young age. She learned these skills right after elementary school by watching her mother and older sister in the kitchen, and began helping them shortly after. Vini came to the U.S. in 2008 to further her education, and that was when she started to miss the traditional homemade food she had grown up with. Vini tried several different Indian restaurants and when they failed to satisfy her desire for home-style food, she decided to work toward someday owning a cafe or a restaurant to introduce traditional homestyle food.

Vini takes great pride in her style of cooking, creating unique recipes and dishes based on available ingredients. She has also started to include baked goods into her menu and has since been taking private orders for wedding desserts, farmer’s markets and other catering events. She hopes to continue and soon have a permanent brick and mortar location.

You can find Chef Vini's authentic Indian curries at the Downtown SLC Farmer’s MarketJade Market, Liberty Park Farmer's Market, Namaste Nanglo Groceries, and Quik Pik Market at Jordan Square Plaza.
