After working for nearly ten years in the kitchen and front of the house at a hotel in Thailand, Haymar certainly has experience preparing quality cuisine. Originally from the Mon State of Burma, Haymar came to Utah as a refugee in 2008. Her passion lies in cooking and sharing true Burmese food with Salt Lake City.
In addition to her catering company Januhongsar, Haymar also owns a market space called Sonjhae and aspires to sell her own fresh food there someday. She invites the local Burmese community to taste their favorite flavors from home and welcomes the Salt Lake community to discover genuine Burmese dishes they will love!
