Zahko Kurdish Cuisine
Chef Mayan arrived in Salt Lake City in 1996. Growing up in Afghanistan, Mayan learned to cook with her family using fresh ingredients and Kurdish spice blends. She remembers tasting her mother's food throughout the cooking process and developed a love for those traditional dishes.
Zakho Kurdish Cuisine is named for the beautiful town of Zakho in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. An iconic and colorful place that is home to the well-known ancient Dalal bridge.
Mayan enjoys cooking with her daughter, and plans to bring fresh and flavorful food to the Salt Lake Valley with her catering business, Zakho Kurdish Cuisine!
