Isaaf was born in Jordan, and spent nearly two decades in Italy before arriving in Salt Lake City. She is a lifelong learner and enjoys teaching herself new skills as well as taking courses at local colleges and universities.

She and her son started Amal wa Salam (Hope and Peace) at the Downtown Farmer’s Market seven years ago, where their specialties include falafel, hummus, baba ganouj and chicken shawarma. After years of working at this venue, she is ready to transform her business into a full time career.

Isaaf is our newest participant. She has received 5 hours of technical assistance and is currently working on her menu.
