Lucy, a refugee from Burma, learned the art of sushi making from her uncle, a retired sushi chef. Lucy and her husband, Dar Ki, started Family Fresh Sushi in 2009 by selling grab-and-go sushi to five locally owned, family grocers.
They have since grown and now sell to a large grocer with fresh sushi-making kiosks in five stores from St. George to Orem.
Lucy and Dar Ki received over 50 hours of direct technical assistance, streamlined multiple businesses to one buyer and now accommodate five in-store kiosks and daily delivery to four stores. They have also increased their employees from 2 to 6 over the last nine months.
Dar Ki and Lucy take great pride in using fresh ingredients to provide their customers with quality sushi at an affordable price.
