Breaking Bread - 2018

In November, we gathered together for the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Salt Lake City’s 3rd annual Breaking Bread. We enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and desserts prepared by Spice Kitchen Incubator entrepreneurs. We sat at the family table, built new friendships, and worked to overcome cultural and language barriers to ensure everyone felt welcome. Spice Kitchen Moves to Square Kitchen

Spice Kitchen Incubator is excited to announce the transition to a larger commercial kitchen space, which will include a small café space offering hot meals throughout the week as well as a store front for packaged goods and prepared meals. With support from our community, we are looking forward to increasing our capacity to serve low to moderate income entrepreneurs, as well as increase the availability for the community to eat with us!

Hayat Scales Up!

Spice Kitchen Incubator works with aspiring food entrepreneurs to establish and grow a business. The curriculum is intensive and typically takes between 6-8 months to complete. Technical assistance is tailored through these months to meet each entrepreneur's goals and provide a sturdy foundation for launching a new business.

Film Screening of "Soufra"

Spice Kitchen is excited to collaborate with the Utah Film Center to screen Soufra, an inspiring story of social entrepreneur Mariam Shaar as she works alongside refugee women to launch a catering and food truck business in the Burj El Barajneh refugee camp in Lebanon.

A panel discussion will follow, which includes The International Rescue Committee in Salt Lake City's Executive Director Natalie El-Deiry. There will also be Soufra cookbooks available for sale.
