Entrepreneurs Prepare for Greater Reach of Products

Due to the ever-changing COVID-19 regulations, many food entrepreneurs are exploring new avenues to reach customers. Several entrepreneurs in the Spice Kitchen Incubator program are developing packaged products to pitch to retailers, restaurants, and e-commerce sites.

Because of the increased interest in this type of business model, Spice staff and volunteers have begun offering a virtual workshop series for entrepreneurs to develop and practice their product pitches.

Entrepreneurs have taken this opportunity to share stories and ideas of ways to work with each other, as well as successful practices they've used to market their products. Naomi (Prin-Ya Custard) and John (Kuya Del) were able to practice their 5-minute elevator pitches and, in one session, Mika (Honey Teahive) shared ways she was able to track social media interactions and when to create a new post.

Workshops have provided an opportunity for entrepreneurs to connect and work with one another. "Knowledge sharing has been key to these workshops," says Carmen, Spice Kitchen Incubator's Business Development Intern. "It's exciting for entrepreneurs to be able to connect with each other.”

We want to know: what products are you hoping to see in your local markets this summer? Send us a message!
