Spice Kitchen Incubator Entrepreneur Highlights 2021
January, 2022
Spice Kitchen enrolled nine new Pre-Incubation participants in 2021 and supported a total 52 participants representing 27 different countries and regions in a variety of business models; catering, food trucks, restaurants, and frozen and ready-to-eat packaged products.
2021 saw the launch or relaunch of six new businesses, and operational businesses in Incubation earned a cumulative gross income of over $250,000 in 2021 across more than 300 market opportunities.
Our teams couldn't have accomplished all of this without the support of our generous community. We continue to look forward to 2022 and hope you will join us in the new year!
How YOU can support local food systems in 2022
The past year saw more opportunities than ever to show support for local entrepreneurs and food entrepreneurship programming - whether you donated, volunteered, or continued eating local, we are thankful for your support!
2021 was certainly a year for the books! You can still offer support in 2022:
Donate - Encourage your community to participate in a donation drive together and collect commercial kitchen or small farm equipment, or become a sustaining donor to your favorite programs.
Work or Volunteer with Us - Sign up for Spice-to-Go or Sunnyvale Farmer's Market support, join our team as an intern, or explore your new career options.
Support Local on Social Media - Follow your favorite businesses, farmers, and markets, and find other local businesses' to support with the IRC SLC Business Directory.
EAT! - Purchase directly from small food businesses at farmer's markets, consider catered meals for private events, participate in the CSA program, or patronize the locations that purchase wholesale products and produce.
