Welcoming Week Cooking Class
We are excited to partner with Salt Lake County for this year’s Welcoming Week celebrations!
Welcoming Salt Lake is an initiative to build, celebrate, and welcome diverse communities together.
On Friday, September 18th, Spice Kitchen Incubator will be offering a virtual cooking class with meal prep kits available to all paying attendees.
The event will also have a focus on accessibility and inclusion, as our partnership with Salt Lake County’s Office for New Americans ensures that low-income and food-insecure community members interested in participating will have the opportunity, free of charge.
About the Class:
Ashikat Kitchen is a catering business that cooks traditional Middle Eastern cuisine. Chef Saadiyah offers unique dishes with beautiful presentations and are passionate about making every event special.
This cooking class will walk attendees through one of Saadiyah's favorite dishes, tepsi bathejan, a layered Iraqi casserole with eggplant, tomatoes, potatoes, onion, and exciting spices. Though this version of bathejan is vegetarian, attendees are welcome to include additional protein.
When: Friday, September 18th from 6-8pm
Where: We will send the Zoom link to all paying attendees prior to the event
Cost: $50
