United Nations Chooses Salt Lake City for 68th Civil Society Conference
(Aug. 2019) - With the help of Visit Salt Lake, Spice Kitchen Incubator entrepreneurs will be feeding the masses at the private Welcoming Party on Sunday, August 25th at Gallivan Plaza. Ten food booths serving small bites and finger foods from across the world will seek to impress both local and global conference attendees at the largest event Spice has coordinated to date!
For the first time ever, the United Nations Civil Society Conference will be hosted in the United States outside of New York. The week of August 25th will welcome 2,000-4,000 representatives from over 300 non-governmental organizations representing more than 80 countries.
Mayor Jackie Biskupski led the charge to put Salt Lake City on the map as an option for the 68th annual conference, "as a city committed to being inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable, it is an honor to be the first U.S. host city of the UN-DPI NGO Conference outside of New York."
