Chef Najati of Namash Swahili Cuisine
Originally from Somalia, Najati came to the United States in 2008. She learned to cook at age 12 from her mother, who also owned her own food business. Najati spent her childhood selling her mother’s cooking and eventually her own on the streets in Kenya.
Najati wanted to start her business, Namash Swahili Cuisine, to share with the Salt Lake community her experiences of being home. She prides herself on great customer service and serves authentic Somali and Kenyan family recipes.

You may order the Combo Meal which includes all options below OR order À la Carte picking only the items you want.
*Dinner Combos include a choice of one entrée and one appetizer, plus a side, beverage & dessert. (Serves 1 individual)
You can also order items individually. Plus, you can order the combo meal and add individual items in addition to your combo meal. “Mix-and-match as you please.”
Spice To Go Dinner “Options”
Entrées:
1. Omnivore Option: Baked salmon marinated with Swahili spices topped with bell peppers and onions, served with spiced rice (Gluten free, dairy free)
2. Vegetarian Option: Mixed vegetables with Swahili spices, served with spiced rice. (Vegan, gluten free, dairy free)
Appetizers:
Samosas (2 pcs) with your choice of beef or vegetable, handmade and deep fried until golden brown. (Halal, contains wheat)
Beverage:
Mango Lassi; a rich and creamy yogurt drink with mango puree.
Dessert:
Baklava (2 pcs) (Contains nuts, wheat)

Order Pickup
Please Note: Orders close Wednesday April 12th at 12pm! Orders can be picked up, hot and ready-to-eat from Spice Kitchen (751 W 800 S Salt Lake City, UT 84104) Thursday April 14th from 4:00-6:30pm.
When you arrive for pickup please text us (385-202-5207) with the first and last name on the order, if you would like disposable utensils, and a description of your vehicle when you arrive. We ask that you remain in your vehicles and a staff member or volunteer will run your orders out shortly.
