This week's Spice to Go features Chefs Ibrahim and Rawiya of Halab's Jasmine Kitchen and Fresh 'n' Fried!

Ibrahim made his way around his family kitchen as a child and began experimenting with different recipes. Upon moving to Utah in 2016, Ibrahim and his wife, Rawiya, decided that owning their own food business would be a great opportunity in their new home. Halab’s Jasmine Kitchen offers authentic Syrian dishes coming from years of creating unique spice mixes and marinades. In Spring 2022, Ibrahim and Rawiya transformed their original food truck into their latest business concept: Fresh 'n' Fried.

Fresh 'n' Fried offers Halab’s take on the American classics of fried chicken tenders, fried chicken breasts, fried mozzarella sticks, and French fries. Combo plates come with a dipping sauce and a small coleslaw-like salad.

Their original Halab's Jasmine Kitchen menu is still available for catering.

Spice To Go Dinner “Options”

Entrées:

  1. Falafel Wrap (12oz)

    Four pieces of falafel, along with tomatoes, hummus, and pickles, wrapped in Arabic bread. Served with a side of fattoush and tahini. (Vegetarian and dairy free; contains gluten and sesame)

  2. Chicken Kebsah (12oz)

    Chicken breast simmered in a tomato sauce spiced with kebsah--a blend of black pepper, cloves, cardamom, saffron, cinnamon, bay leaves and nutmeg--and potatoes, carrots and onions and served with a colorful saffron rice. (Contains nuts, dairy free, gluten free)

Appetizers:

  1. Vegetable Sambusa (3pc):

    Diced vegetables in a fried pastry dough. Served with toum, garlic sauce, and a small portion of fattoush. (Vegetarian, contains wheat, dairy free)

  2. Chicken Sambusa (3pc):

    Shredded chicken breast in a fried pastry dough. Served with toum, garlic sauce, and a small portion of fattoush. (Contains wheat, dairy free)

Dessert:

Baklava (3pc):

Layers of flaky dough filled with chopped walnuts and cinnamon, glazed with a lemon-accented simple sweet syrup. (Vegetarian, contains nuts, contains gluten, dairy free)

Beverages:

Hot Cardamom Arabic Tea (12oz):

Black tea with cardamom (Vegan, contains caffeine, dairy free, gluten free)

Place your order by Tuesday, January 17th at noon and pick up your item(s) via curbside pick up on Thursday, January 19th from Square Kitchen (751 West 800 South) between 4-6:30pm.

When you arrive for pickup please text us (385-202-5207) with the first and last name on the order, if you would like disposable utensils, and a description of your vehicle when you arrive. We ask that you remain in your vehicles and a staff member or volunteer will run your orders out shortly.
