Artisan Food: The Venezuelan gastronomy is diverse and varied, it is the result of the cultural mix of the native inhabitants and the immigrants coming from Europe, Asia, Africa, and is characterized by a diverse mix of exquisite flavors. Delicius is an idea that arises as an alternative to spread the customs and roots of Venezuelan cuisine. Together with the support of "Spice Kitchen Incubator" we have managed to offer healthy, simple and practical products with exquisite Caribbean flavor.

Ahimara and Orlando are from Valencia, the capital city of the Carabobo state in Venezuela. Ahimara learned to cook from her grandmother who taught her the art and balance of flavors. Before coming to the United States in 2019, Ahimara had decades of baking and entrepreneurial experience in Venezuela where she was trained as a Master Pastry Chef. Ahimara and Orlando owned a culinary academy where they taught as well as participated in numerous baking and cooking classes, focusing on breads, cakes, custards, and tarts.

Now in Utah, Ahimara and Orlando have launched Delicius, a family Venezuelan bakery business that brings the flavors and recipes of Venezuela to Salt Lake City. Their mission is to conserve, spread, and enhance the Venezuelan traditional gastronomic memory, based upon a philosophy of quality of service and a newfangled business model that guarantees making the most of local products, the plurality, and the fusion of the Venezuelan tradition with the most highlighted aspects of the American culinary culture and its preferences.

Chef Ahimara and Orlando participated in the 2019 Journey to the Wasatch, the International Rescue Committee’s annual fundraising party celebrating refugees in our community who survive conflict and disaster to call Utah their home.
