Chef Merab of The Salseria
Chef Merab was born and raised in Southern California to Mexican parents. She grew up surrounded by hardworking and talented women but the two who have influenced her the most were her mom and Abuelita.
Her Abuelita’s cooking was more than just food, it told a story. This is how she shared her love and expressed her feelings. Abuelita would stand next to you to watch you enjoy her food and waited anxiously for your approval. Chef Merab inherited this from her Abuelita and as she shares her food with friends, they encouraged her again and again to do something with this gift.
In Mexico, the place to get tortillas is called tortillería, you get your flowers at the florería, and now you can get your salsa at The Salseria.
